Responsible for the maintenance, upkeep, and construction of the landscape at Cosley Zoo and its surrounding properties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*Maintain trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals.
*Perform tree and shrub pruning and trimming and follow instructions to ensure properly performed.
*Install, maintain, and repair general landscape improvements throughout the zoo.
*Maintains effective two-way communication with immediate supervisor.
*Communicate professionally with coworkers and public.
*Assist with non-landscape projects as needed.
*Follow the Wheaton Park District and Cosley Zoo policies, procedures, and guidelines.
*Maintain good safety awareness and follow all safety guidelines and procedures. |

| Qualifications: |
REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Minimum high school graduate or equivalent, with two (2) years of experience in the landscaping industry. Knowledge and experience in the operation of most equipment required to implement a landscape construction project. Must have reliable transportation. Pesticide operator license desired but not required. Must have great problem solving, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to multi-task and work calmly and effectively under pressure. Must be available for varied schedule. |
